The project is designed to be 14,900 sqm and 260m x 57m x 8m in dimensions. The space has been divided into modules, which are designated for processing, refrigerated storage, loading, and other logistics purposes within the facility. Modular construction made of steel, compared to conventional concrete construction, allows for a reduction of the construction period of up to 40% and increased load bearing of up to 30%.

2. Why Is a Steel Structure Suitable for Cold Storage?

A steel structure cold storage building offers a multitude of possibilities as it is sturdy, very flexible, and easy to install. Due to the fact that high-strength galvanized steel is used in our designs, they are suitable for very humid and also for seismic areas, such as Peru. All components for the building are produced in the factory, and thanks to this, great precision is achieved regarding dimensions. On-site work is reduced to a minimum in order to avoid complications.

A clear-span interior allows for minimum interior columns to locate cold rooms, processing lines, storage of pallet racks, forklifts, and loading patterns. As your operation evolves, the interior can evolve with fewer structural restrictions.

3. Project Features

  1. Reliable thermal performance: The building uses 100–200mm PU/PIR sandwich panels to reduce heat transfer and maintain stable internal conditions. The system supports a technical temperature range from -30°C to +25°C, with approximately ±0.5°C stability when matched with suitable refrigeration equipment.
  2. Fast modular construction: Using prefabricated steel components, which are manufactured off-site before being assembled at the site. It limits ‘wet work’ and minimizes disruption. It also allows for future expansion when more storage is required.
  3. Strong load capacity: The main structure uses GB Q355B steel and supports spans of up to 40 meters. This clear-span design creates open working areas for refrigeration equipment, suspended systems, storage racks, and material-handling operations.
