The steel structure warehouse built in Panama is a prefabricated project created for a client who needed a practical space for storage and logistics.
Instead of a complicated layout, the design stays straightforward. It uses a steel portal frame, welded H-section columns, and beams that form a clean interior span.
All steel components were produced in China and shipped as a complete prefab kit, ready for installation once they reached Panama.
The total dimensions of the building measure 100 m × 50 m × 15 m.
This structure relies on a sturdy frame. The frame primarily features welded H-section steel. It combines with galvanized C/Z purlins. Such a design provides solid support for the building. It performs reliably amid Panama’s moist, warm, and frequently rainy weather.
This steel structure warehouse can be used for several purposes, for example:
A mezzanine floor sits on one side, giving the client a separate office area inside the warehouse.
Panama experiences long wet seasons and high humidity.
To deal with this, the frame uses Q355B welded H-section steel. It offers a strong load-bearing capacity, keeping the structure stable across the full 100-meter span.
The envelope uses a mix of panels and insulation materials:
Both roof and wall systems help reduce heat transfer and maintain better indoor conditions in humid weather.
A concrete strip foundation supports the entire building.
A low brick base is situated under the wall panels, providing extra resistance to ground moisture and extending the lifespan of the insulated panels.
On the entire length of the steel structure warehouse, eight roller shutter doors sit in place. They form several entry points.
This setup allows forklifts and trucks to enter and exit without much waiting. It proves especially useful during peak times.
Windows are installed around the walls to bring enough natural light into the warehouse.
This reduces electricity use during the day and helps improve visibility inside the space.
With a portal frame and minimal internal columns, the interior remains open.
That makes reorganizing storage racks simple and gives forklift drivers enough room to work safely.

This building has a part of the mezzanine, which is used as an office.
This prefab steel structure warehouse works well for distribution, commercial storage, light industrial use, and mixed office-warehouse setups.
Because the steel parts were prefabricated, the on-site installation time is reduced.
This lowers labor requirements and helps control the overall budget.
Glass wool insulation, wire mesh, and anti-corrosion coatings help the building perform well in Panama’s tropical environment.
The portal frame layout enables the warehouse to be easily extended by adding extra bays as needed, accommodating increased space requirements.
